Use of Camera and editing software
In the pre-production process of our media film coursework, we primarily learned how to set up a camera and change the settings/ functions to adapt the lighting, exposure, f-stock and focus. We used the Black Magic Ursa Mini Pro camera (a top of the Line digital camera). We learnt how to un-pack the camera gear, set up the tripod, mount the camera and attach the pan handle, bubble the camera and attach and focus the lens. After the practical side, we focused on lighting settings, such as indoor, outdoor, cloudy and florescent light.
We participated in some editing workshops with our practical coursework teacher Matt, who taught us how to edit video and sound.
My group communicated through social media platform Snapchat. We messaged each other ideas, allowing us to constantly adapt and improve our opening sequence and sent each other photos of props and example shots we wanted to use.
We also used our mobile phones, during class, to walk around the campus and take photos, such as: long shots, panning shots and pull focus shots, to prepare us and teach us cameras skills before filming. In addition to this, we used Ebay to buy props from online that we wouldn't be able to find in charity shops or stores.
